Day 310: Reinventing The Wheel

Ever heard of the expression ‘There is no need to reinvent the wheel!’. For those that have not, this expression implies that it is completely unnecessary to come up with ‘your own way’ of approaching and directing a specific point if a solution has already been found – thus also implying that there is no value in coming up within things yourself – the value is instead in the solution itself and the practical outflows that comes from applying that solution.

I want to write a blog about this point because it has recently opened up in relation to my job. Basically, this is what happened: I had been given a task to write a piece on a specific topic. I sat down and started to sketch out how I would approach the point, only to realize that, there were some things off with the topic. I began making my own inquiries, and sat for some hours doing research. After a while I was satisfied, and also proud over myself that I had found that answers I was looking for. In my mind I imagined myself receiving some sort of praise or recognition from my superiors.

Later during the day I approached my boss and showed him what I had been working on. To my surprise he said; ‘Oh yes, that kind of problem, we deal with it like this, you can do the same here’ – whereupon he showed me an existing template of how the problem could be directed. I experienced a sense of disappointment, because I had hoped that my efforts would be rewarded with praise and attention, and now, it seemed that all my work had been in vain. This led me to ask myself the following questions: ‘Why did I not ask for someone’s perspective before I started to dig into this work?’ – ‘How can I avoid repeating this mistake in the future?’ – ‘How come it is that I place receiving attention and praise as a priority over practically getting things done in ways already tested and trialed?’.

In looking at this point I realized that the reason as to why I wanted to reinvent the wheel was because it would make me special, unique, and more in the eyes of others – through it I would be able to differentiate myself as more than. Though, the consequence of this was that I put in several hours into something that was not required, because the wheel was already invented, I could just have asked, and then solved the task within a matter of minutes.

Hence, this stands as a fitting example as to why wanting to be special, unique, new and the first is a limitation – because in that we are not working with COMMON SENSE – but trying to realize a dream/feeling/hope. And this feeling of being special, it is not even real, because physical creation is but that – it is a physical practical creation – and who created what or when – that does not matter to physical creation. For example, does it matter to a house or those living in the house, that the carpenter who built that house came up with and applied a new idea? Most likely no. And further, being special limits us from copying and using what is good and effective in the way others live their life’s – because we do not want to be a copycat. Though, what is wrong with being a copy cat when what is copied works and is of benefit to everyone?

Instead of wanting to be special, what should be the primary focus is to be of utmost value to ourselves and others in our life – and to be that it is not required for us to be unique – however we do need effective living techniques and in the process of establish such we can learn a lot from others. Hence, the solution that I see for myself when it comes to my job is to develop communication, openness, and also, completely let go of the desire to be special, and replace it with the desire to be effective/of benefit to myself and others. To instead of striving to be recognized, strive to do the best work that I can do.

Self-forgiveness

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to want to be special instead of equal with others

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to desire to be more than others and be recognized as special – and in this I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to miss out on myself – where instead of my focus and direction being to create what is best for all – to be of benefit and support to others in my life – my direction becomes about wanting and desiring recognition

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to want and desire recognition – and I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to compromise myself and my physical reality in order to achieve recognition

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to not practice self-recognition – in the sense that I recognize myself as being of value and a asset to others and myself – and push myself to stand as such a force in my life – where the purpose of myself and my future as such is not to become someone in the eyes of others – but instead to become a trustworthy companion that is able to walk this physical reality and give and share what is best for all

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to want to invent something unique and out of this world – to want to do something nobody has ever done before so that I can feel special and good about myself in what I am doing – and hence I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to let this desire take the drive within me – and want it to push and drive me through my life – in the belief that I require and need this something – to make a mark in my life – to have done something with my life.

Self-commitment statements

When and as I see myself doing something because I want to be special – something that is not really practical or necessary and where I am trying to reinvent the wheel – I stop myself – I take a breath – and I bring myself back here – and I see, realize and understand that in wanting to be special and get recognition I am compromising my effectiveness and my ability to contribute and give to others what is best – and hence I see that there is no practical value in being special – there is no practical value in being unique – and this physical reality does not care about who does what – and hence I commit myself instead practice being of value to myself and others in my world through practical living – where I push myself to take actions that make sense and have results – instead of taking actions in hope of being special.

I commit myself to practice the word simplicity – to embrace simplicity in my life – to embrace simplicity as myself – to see, realize and understand that I do not need to be special in my life – that I do not need to be someone or something to others – that all I need is equality – is to embrace and push me to stand as an equal participant – in that live value – live equality – live contribution – to push myself to be a giving participant that makes a difference through practical – basic – daily actions

Day 117: How We Use Our Intelligence To Sabotage

trenches-warThe First World War – a fascinating and completely ridiculous part of our human inheritance that really is a perfect example of how we as human beings exist within ourselves and towards each other. Currently though, there is no major world war, no trenches, and no bombs as it were back then, yet the starting point of these destructive forces still exists within us and they are visible in how we deal with situations and interact in moments of our day – what we say to ourselves in our minds – what we say about others in our minds – how we value things and how we put our own interests before the interests of others without and shame.

This point opened up as I was watching this documentary (click HERE to see it) about the First World War – and in this documentary they are digging up the old trenches of the western front. Within this process the archeologists find fascinating artifacts that all show the ingenuity of human consciousness – the ingenuity to make it easier to kill other human beings. For example an entrapment in the form of a fake soldiers head that was raised above the trenches, to lure the fire from snipers in the opposite trenches, so that snipers could be spotted and killed. Why is it as such that we have used our ingenuity to kill and maim each other, to find more ways to soothe our own interests without regard for others, and how come we have never used our intellect and intelligence to support ourselves, each other and a life that is best for all?

We claim to be intelligent, yet we use this intelligence to wage war, to develop new weapons, to develop new ways of deceiving each other, and then we blame the world and life for being difficult and filled with hardship not realizing that we as individuals have actively been creating this through our participation – we have actively used our intelligence to make sure that I survive, that I get through, that I get my hands on those resources, and in this we have created a world of competition where we will not hesitate to kill one another if we feel that our resources and survival is threatened – and that is obviously completely unacceptable – and it results in a world of hardship because we are hard and brutal against one another – it is the formula of 1 +1 = 2 in action.

Our intellect and intelligence could become a great gift – through it we have the most amazing opportunity to create life that is best for all, we have the most amazing opportunity to support ourselves in our personal processes of transcending and walking through the mind – we could use our intelligence, our ingenuity, our problem solving skills, not to further our own personal wants and desires, but to instead support each other, support ourselves and support life – clearly there is potential to do this but the missing piece in all of this is our DECISION to stop self-sabotage and stand up to in-fact support life.

The First World War is thus a testimony to our potential to create solutions and inventions as well as a testimony to our inability to walk beyond our preprogrammed mindset of only considering me, I and myself – it is a testimony to how we sabotage ourselves and accept things as they are instead of looking beyond our reactions and experiencesseeing that there is a way where no war requires to be waged – the way of equality – where we give as we would like to receive. There is a always a way in which we can support ourselves and our neighbors – we do have the intelligence and intellect to find the solutions – now what we require to do is to live it – stop giving way to the ways of old and instead start considering solutions that benefit everyone.

No One Would Sell You Anymore Shit In A Equal Money System

If you decide to take a stroll in our current money system, simply leaving your home, placing your one feet in front of the other one, exploring your township while enjoying a refreshing walk – you’ll with almost complete certainty experience and come face to face with one thing; though the requirement is that you walk in a city. This thing that you’ll experience and come face to face with is the following: people will try to sell you shit!

Yes – not only will you during your refreshing walk several times face the situation wherein someone is attempting to sell you something, either through advertisement as pictures, smells, sounds, shapes and forms, or direct selling – but they’ll also try to sell you shit – yes shit. And it’s this fascinating and particular point of shit being sold and auctioned in our current money system that I am going to place focus upon in these writings – because: why is it that we sell each other shit? Why is it that we invent shit products?

Though, obviously, as you buy the product, or become enticed to buy the product as the advertisement flash before your eyes, you don’t know that the product is shit – as the advertisement will make the product seem better than, more awesome, more fantastic than it in-fact is; thus you’ll believe that what you buy is actually cool – only to find it out that it breaks apart some months after the purchase – which is why you with a well rehearsed sigh conclude that the product was in-fact shit.

And even if the product lasts some years and you think that the product is actually good, it’s still less than how good and effective it could have been, if it was in-fact built to be sturdy, of good quality and supportive to man – but products aren’t built to be sturdy, of good quality and supportive to man – no they are built to expire and break – for the simple reason that such a construction creates a higher influx of money. As such you have no way of comparing the shit product you’ve bought, with an actual functional and effective product – as no such product currently exist – as all products that are created in our current money system are in-fact shit. Thus, you’re not able to see and understand what a cool product is, as you’ve never seen one of those ever – as they can’t exist, or be built in our current money system – only shit products are able to be created.

Why do I then say that all products created in our current money system are in-fact shit? It’s due to the simple reason that all products in our current money system are created with the sole intent of creating profit, as such the focus in the development and purpose of the product has not been it’s actual functionality and excellence – but instead how much money it would cost to make, and how much money it would generate back for it’s creators. Thus, no product is created with the intention of actually supporting and assisting man in living a fulfilling and effective life – and as such all products are shit; it’s simple mathematics.

But – there is obviously a solution, there is another way to live and exist, wherein survival would be removed from the life experience of man, wherein profit and greed would be removed from the life experience of man; and such a solution is a system, and this system is the Equal Money System. And in this system all would be supported with the necessities that are required for us to live and thrive, and as such products wouldn’t anymore be created from a starting point of survival – as wanting to make a profit, and calculating cost-factors in fear of spending to much time, and resources – but products would instead be created to assist and support mankind – wherein designs, and creations wouldn’t anymore be limited by the factor of money.

And the products produced wouldn’t be sold, due to the fact that all is available to everyone in an Equal Money System – as such all would be able to receive and have the best products possible, the products that truly would make life enjoyable, and fulfilling – not shit products that break when you just look at them.

Thus – in an Equal Money System we would for the first time experience and have access to in our reality, actual products of worth, relevance and value – and you’d never again have to set your eyes upon, or come face to face with the point of someone trying to sell you shit – as neither shit, nor selling would anymore exist = heaven on earth!
